WALKER parts have been in production since 1916. A brand new production plant was set up in Racine, Wisconsin to provide support for the then new business. The business was later called the Walker Manufacturing Company. Later the company acquired another leading auto parts company called Ajax Auto Parts which then meant that WALKER became the leading producer of jacks. In the early days of automobiles, mufflers were just plain metal cans and provided little or no benefit to the driver or the passengers inside. Walker seized the opportunity to design a much better product which in fact did silence the vehicle to a great extent. Walker was one of the first to patent their louvered tube muffler which quickly became the industry leader by the 1940s. As engines improved so did, the technology that kept them quite had to as well, so standards improved too. As a consequence, the first stainless steel muffler was introduced in 1941.
Out of all the WALKER, car parts produced today their silencers and mufflers have to be the most popular. The company has a history of innovation which is why the latest muffler was an OE-style replacement for Diesel vehicles introduced in 2012 meant for the latest diesel-powered trucks.
