VALEO is a French company originally founded in 1923, in Saint-Ouen, which is one of the largest suburbs in Paris. The company started by supplying clutch facings and brake linings which were done under the license of Ferodo UK. However, later in the 60s the company wanted to diversify and by 1961 they started supplying thermal systems, in 1962, they added lighting systems to their supplies and in 1978 added electrical systems. Later in May 1980, the company was named VALEO, and the original name The Société Anonyme Française de Ferodo was done away with because it was hard to brand. Today VALEO parts are considered some of the best in the business regardless of what you purchase. VALEO as a brand engages in a very aggressive expansion and sales strategy internationally with acquisitions and marketing campaigns. VALEO is currently divided into four business groups thanks to recent acquisitions of Johnson Controls. Statics show that VALEO car parts sales have more than doubled in the past four years with a new plant opened in 2013 in the Yangtze Delta Region, Nanjing.
China is one of the biggest markets for the brand when it comes to sales and the overall number of parts manufactured. However, VALEO is best known for its ability to keep costs down while providing high-quality parts to buyers across the world. Plus, its iron clad warranty means that people can trust the brand regardless of the cars they drive.
