The pressure transducer, also called a boost controller, is a device to control the boost levels produced by the intake manifold of a turbocharged or supercharged car. What it does is affect the air pressure delivered to the engine, and more particularly the pneumatic and mechanical wastegate actuators. The pressure transducer can be a simple manual control or it may be included as part of the engine management computer.
This device works on the principle that air pressure is fed from the compressed side of the turbocharger to the wastegate actuator via a vacuum hose. The air pressure pushes against a spring located in the actuator to allow the wastegate to open and redirect exhaust gasses so that they do not get near the turbine wheel.
Have you ever been in need of a car part and had to drive many miles only to find that the spares shop does not have the required part? Have you ever stood in long queues for hours and the salesperson at the parts store is out of stock? It is much easier to purchase parts online. Simply go online, punch in the year model, make and engine capacity of your car, and then source the parts you require. Add in the delivery address where you want the ordered parts delivered to and then sit back in the comfort of your own home and wait for delivery. It is that easy.
