If you’re not yet familiar with Hella, one of the biggest automobile suppliers worldwide, then you may be interested to learn that this family-owned business has been around since 1899. Since then the company has grown exponentially and now has 20 000 employees worldwide. The company motto of “technology with a vision” says everything you need to know about this German automobile components manufacturer: it is an advocate for quality and is always at the forefront of technology. For Hella air-conditioning there is a division dedicated entirely to thermal management called Behr Hella Service.
You can imagine your air-conditioning as a deconstructed refrigerator. Its purpose is to transfer the heat from inside the car to the outside. The required air-conditioning components are all available from Hella air-conditioning: the compressor, refrigerant, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator and the receiver/dryer. The air-conditioning comes into effect when the refrigerant is compressed, making it hot. This heat is then expelled through the condenser and the cooled refrigerant turns from gas to liquid. The liquid is then transferred to the evaporator where it decompresses and some of it turns into a low-pressure gas. The liquid part of the mixture absorbs heat and evaporates, and the blower of the car circulates the cool air.
Hella air-conditioning has recently released an expanded catalogue of air-conditioning components that spans over 1100 pages and offers 2700 products for 86 different vehicle makes. The Hella air-conditioning components are provided to fit numerous specific vehicles so as to avoid disappointment. As can be expected from all Hella products, Hella's air-conditioning components are of the highest quality.
